Fade House: Online Booking for a Growing Barbershop

Built a premium website with online booking, AI chat assistant, and barber profiles for a Spartanburg barbershop losing $300-500/month to no-shows.

This is a fictional brand UWC built to demonstrate what we ship for real founders. The pipeline, agents, and screenshots are real; the business is illustrative.

The Challenge

Fade House had a 4.9-star reputation on Google with 180 reviews, but no website and no online booking. Customers booked through Instagram DMs or walked in, leading to $300-500/month in lost revenue from no-shows. A new competitor opened two blocks away with online booking. Marcus needed to level up — fast.

Our Approach

We built a 7-page website with online booking per barber, a $10 refundable deposit system to cut no-shows, and an AI chat assistant that answers the 50+ daily questions about hours, pricing, and availability. Each barber gets their own profile page with specialties and schedule. The dark, premium design matches the in-shop experience.

The situation

Fade House is a premium barbershop at 142 E Main St in Spartanburg, SC. Owner Marcus Johnson has been cutting hair for over 8 years and opened the shop in 2024 with a clear vision: an upscale, modern barbershop experience — good music, complimentary drinks, professional consultation before every cut.

The reputation was strong. 180 Google reviews with a 4.9-star average. A growing TikTok presence with cut transformation videos. Four barbers with full chairs most days.

But the business was running on Instagram DMs and walk-ins. And it was costing them.

The problems

  • No-shows: With no deposits and no formal booking, customers would commit via DM and not show up. That's $300-500 in lost chair time every month.
  • 50+ daily DMs: "What are your hours?" "How much for a fade?" "Is Marcus available Saturday?" The same questions, over and over. Manual replies eating into cutting time.
  • No online visibility: People searching "barbershop Spartanburg" or "barber near me" found competitors first — including a new shop that opened two blocks away.
  • No barber selection: Customers couldn't see which barber specializes in what, or check individual availability before showing up.

What we built

Online booking with deposits

Every barber has their own booking page with real-time availability. Customers pick their barber, choose a time, and pay a $10 refundable deposit through Stripe. Cancel with 2 hours notice and the deposit is returned. Don't show up? The shop keeps it.

The result: no-shows dropped immediately. When money is on the line, people show up.

AI chat assistant

A floating chat button on every page answers the questions Marcus used to handle 50+ times daily:

  • "What are your hours?" → Instant answer
  • "How much for a beard sculpt?" → Full pricing breakdown
  • "Is anyone available this afternoon?" → Checks real availability
  • "What's the difference between a fade and a taper?" → Detailed explanation

It doesn't replace Marcus — it handles the repetitive questions so Marcus can focus on cutting.

Barber profiles

Each barber gets their own page: photo, specialties, years of experience, and a direct booking link. Customers who want a specific barber can find them and book in seconds. Customers who don't care can browse all barbers and pick based on availability.

Gallery

The best cuts, fades, and beard work — pulled from the shop's portfolio. This is the sales pitch for a barbershop. New customers scroll the gallery, see the quality, and book.

Premium design

Dark background, gold accents. The website feels like walking into the shop — confident, clean, premium. Not a generic template. Mobile-first, because that's how 90% of barbershop searches happen.

The results

  • Online booking live: Customers book and pay deposits from their phone
  • No-shows reduced: Deposit system changed behavior immediately
  • AI handling questions: 50+ daily DMs reduced to a handful that need personal attention
  • Google visibility: Optimized for "barbershop Spartanburg" with BarberShop schema markup
  • 4 barber profiles: Each barber manages their own schedule and specialties

Why this matters for your business

If you run a service business — salon, spa, gym, studio — and you're managing appointments through DMs or phone calls, you're leaving money on the table. Online booking with a small deposit changes the game. And an AI assistant that handles the repetitive questions frees you up to do what you actually do best.

Tell us about your business and we'll figure out what would make the biggest difference.

"We were losing chairs to no-shows every week. Now customers book online, put down a deposit, and actually show up. The AI chatbot handles the same questions we used to answer 50 times a day on Instagram."
